The case study is on some selected neighborhoods of Milan in order both to gather input relevant to the supply-demand analysis, and to give voice to the needs of the elderly, desires, and criticisms. For these reasons, the proposal aims to identify a sample of neighborhoods in Milan based on concentration of the elderly (proportion of the elderly compared to the average), accessibility to the LPT, availability of (e accessibility a) welfare and community welfare services and their quality. In addition, the profile and needs of the elderly are investigated through a survey addressed to a representative sample of them. Specific macro group of elderly are identified in homogeneous segments according to their type and reasons mobility, chosen methods, shortcomings in local public transport, timetables, propensity to use technology, discrepancy between desired and actual mobility, just to name a few of the most relevant aspects.
